Detroit's Blackadelic Musical Nexus

  • People of Color Psychedelic Collective PO Box 286716 New York, NY 10128 USA (map)

POCPC is hosting a pre-conference event at Reform 2025! Join us for Blackadelic Musical Nexus: A Tribute to Pedro Bell on Wednesday, November 12, from 2:00–5:30 PM, right before the opening celebration.

Join us for an immersive journey through Detroit’s Black psychedelic soundscape. Featuring Thomas Stanley (co-author, George Clinton and P-Funk: An Oral History) and Onyx Ashanti (musician, maker, and inventor), this event honors artist Pedro Bell, whose visionary work helped define Funkadelic’s world of liberation, technofuturism, and funk.

Expect music, history, and a live blackadelic jam that you can join — bring your own instrument or just your energy and curiosity.
